Free Parking in Downtown City Owned Lots

Parking in the downtown City owned parking lots will be free from August 26-30, 2024.  

To encourage business activity in the downtown area of Yorkton, City Council voted in favour of offering additional free parking weeks in the downtown City owned parking lots at the November 27, 2023 Council Meeting.  

Stay tuned for more free parking weeks throughout 2024.

York Road Reconstruction Update August 2024

Phase 4: 

We are pleased to report that we have achieved 99% completion on the project. The final touches are currently in progress, with line painting scheduled to begin on Tuesday, August 6th. We are excited to announce that Phase 4 will officially open on Wednesday, August 7th. 

However, please note that if inclement weather prevents the completion of the painting, the road will not open as planned on Wednesday.

The Traffic Signal Upgrade Project aims to enhance traffic flow, improve safety for both motorists and pedestrians and modernize the current traffic signal system. This project reflects the City’s commitment to maintaining and improving our infrastructure to meet the needs of our growing community.

The tentative start date for this project is August 12, 2024. The project is anticipated to last approximately 4 – 6 weeks, weather-dependent.
